Economical pre-injection of the ground ahead of an excavation with MEYCO microcements counteracts the risk of unexpected water ingress. Where post-injection, soil stabilization or structural repair are still required MEYCO BASF has a complete menu of products and technical support to suit the problem encountered.

Products include RHEOCEM® microcements, and resin products including acrylics and polyurethanes (PU). The MEYCO MP355 range includes 1- and 2-part PU and urea-silicate foams. MEYCO MP320 is a stable, mineral-based grout that is non-hazardous and ecologically friendly.

Our total solution approach brings new dimensions to TBM operation, bringing more success in challenging ground conditions, whether in soft or hard material. MEYCO BASF products can be used at groundwater pressures of up to 4 bar. MEYCO’S TBM product range includes SLF soil conditioning foams, SLF P soil conditioning polymers, Rheosoil anti-clay agents for EPB and slurry-shield machines, TSG tail sealant, new main bearing sealing grease, ABR anti-abrasion agents and dust suppression for hard rock excavation, and annular grout admixtures.

For support aspects of bored tunnel construction MEYCO supplies the latest in pre-cast segment and cast in situ lining admixtures, mould release agents, curing agents fibers additives and repair materials for more durable tunnel structures. For sprayed concrete lining from within the TBM assembly we make modular, custom-designed robotic spray manipulators and pumps for hard rock support.

The famous MEYCO range of machines for concrete spraying include systems for both the wet process, together with a manipulator, and dry-mix systems. Standard units include robotic systems but tailor-made machines are also available for special requirements.

In great demand as a service to customers is the availability of used equipment in many areas. Systems are fully documented for operation, safety and maintenance.

To complement MEYCO concrete spraying equipment there is a range of products to meet the increasing demands for high quality, durable sprayed concrete produced with lower health risks and less negative influences on the environment. The widespread acceptance of permanent sprayed concrete linings for underground excavations includes state-of-the-art single-shell structures.

The damaging effects of fire and external water can be minimized by MEYCO’S spray-on membrane linings.

MEYCO® Fireshield 1350 provides a thermal barrier to prevent explosive concrete spalling with no reduction in concrete strength, and no loss in reinforcement tensile strength during a fire. The product is tested at TNO to Dutch Tunnel Fire Load Requirements and features a compressive strength higher than that of conventional fire barriers, long service life, full bonding without reinforcement, and variable thickness to suit expected fire loads. It is applied by the MEYCO Robojet Logica system to a tolerance of +4mm.

Where external water could be a long-term problem BASF has developed a spray-applied waterproofing membrane called MASTERSEAL® 345 that suits the irregular shapes of excavations and can be applied in a sandwich lining construction between sprayed or cast concrete shells. High bond strength with concrete or steel facilitates the construction of single-shell linings whilst eliminating potential water paths.

MASTERSEAL 345 is safely applied using dry powder spray pumps at rates around 100m2 per hour with two operatives. Curing takes place within a few hours. In a sandwich structure the lining can resist water pressure up to 15 bar.
